ST. CATHERINE’S RAFFLE RULES AND DISCLAIMERS
VEHICLE BEING RAFFLED – This raffle is to win a 1988 Chevrolet Corvette automobile as the sole prize. This vehicle is available for inspection prior to the Raffle drawing upon reasonable request at 1649 Kingsley Ave. Orange Park, FL.
RAFFLE TICKETS – Raffle tickets will be provided at the suggested donation of twenty dollars ($20.00) per ticket. However, as further stated herein a donation is not required to participate in this Raffle.
RAFFLE TO BENEFIT – All donations from this Raffle will be used for the exclusive benefit of Saint Catherine of Siena Catholic Church (“Saint Catherine’s”) located at 1649 Kingsley Avenue, Orange Park, Florida 32073. The described Raffle prize was donated to Saint Catherine’s by a parishioner.
TIME AND PLACE OF DRAWING – A single Raffle ticket representing the sole winner of the described automobile will be drawn at random on Saturday, January 2, 2027 at 6:30 pm, at Saint Catherine’s at the address provided above. This drawing will be open to the public.
“AS IS AND WARRANTY DISCLAIMER – The motor vehicle described above, which is the sole prize in this Raffle, will be awarded to a single winner AS IS and WHERE IS. There is no cash equivalent option in lieu of the vehicle, which, as stated, is the Raffle’s sole prize awarded. The Diocese of St. Augustine, Bishop Erik Pohlmeier, Saint Catherine of Siena, and their employees, volunteers, agents and representatives (hereafter collectively referred to as (“The Saint Catherine’s Group”)) expressly disclaim all warranties of whatsoever type or nature, either express or implied, including all warranties of fitness for a particular purpose or of merchantability. Participants in this raffle are on express notice that the St. Catherine’s Group makes no representations, promises, guarantees or warranties, of any type, regarding the vehicle’s condition operability, safety or longevity. As noted above, all participants will be able to fully inspect the subject automobile, upon reasonable request.
RELEASE OF LIABILITY – The Raffle winner will be required, at the time of taking possession of the described automobile, to sign a complete release, waiver of liability and a hold harmless agreement in favor of the Saint Catherine’s Group, including from their sole negligence, from and against any accidents, deaths, physical injuries, property damage, or repair costs incurred or sustained by assuming possession, ownership and/or operation of the described vehicle. These required documents will be in a form acceptable to the Saint Catherine’s Group.
NO PURCHASE NECESSARY – There is no requirement to buy a Raffle ticket, donate or purchase any item of value as a condition of entering this Raffle. The requested donation of twenty dollars ($20) is simply a suggestion and not a requirement to participate in the Raffle. Providing a contribution or donation will not increase an individual’s chance of winning. Those not donating may request free entry into the Raffle by sending a 3×5 index card to the Saint Catherine of Siena’s business office at the address listed above in a properly addressed envelope. There is a limit of one (1) index card per submitted envelope. The envelope with the 3×5 index card must also include a self-addressed stamped envelope to receive their entry ticket. All such index cards must contain the full name, age, address, phone number and email address of the participant and must be received by 5:00 pm three (3) days prior to the Raffle drawing. A properly completed request for a raffle ticket which is received timely will be entered in the drawing. There is a limit of 1 free entry per entrant.
RAFFLE PARTICIPANTS – All participants in this Raffle must be eighteen (18) years of age.
FEES, TAXES & LICENSING – The winner of this Raffle will be provided with physical possession of the described automobile. The winner will be solely responsible for licensing, registering and insuring this vehicle and for the payment of all local, state or federal taxes associated with or imposed because of claiming this Raffle prize. All participants are placed on express notice that the Saint Catherine’s Group will file all tax forms and other documentation required by law to place the proper authorities on notice of the award of the described Raffle prize and its fair market value.
REQUIREMENTS TO CLAIM PRIZE – The winner of the Raffle will be notified at the address and phone number provided on the entry form. This individual will be required to provide proof of identification, Social Security Number (SSN) or Tax Identification Number (TIN), and auto insurance as well as a valid driver’s license to claim possession of the Raffle prize. A failure to provide these required items within twenty-one (21) days from notification will be deemed to constitute a forfeiture of the Raffle prize.
OTHER RAFFLE RULES – The terms, conditions and rules of this Raffle will be available in the Saint Catherine’s parish office during regular business hours and at all locations where Raffle tickets are obtained. Saint Catherine’s will proceed to conclude the raffle and declare a winner regardless of the number of tickets issued or the amount of voluntary donations received. There will be no discrimination between participants who provide a donation and those that receive a free raffle ticket in either the drawing of a winner or the notification provided to that individual.
